Girls….2 in a row!

Whatta show! We pulled off the biggest upset so far this series, we beat the boys in the benching challenge with the 1 stroke deficit. Blair and Lori played so well and I think it was a great show for Blair’s confidence; she really needed to play well in that challenge and she did! Like I said before the challenge started “if this backfires on the boys its going to be the biggest mistake so far”! And it did.
We all know the results of the benching challenge, but the reason we got into the situation is because we played so poorly in the flop wall challenge and we just couldn’t get it back in the drive accuracy since we were so far back. Watching the show it was so frustrating because we really screwed up the first challenge and how we approached it. Looking at the challenge before we made teams, and chose the order in which we played, we ladies figured the first wall was going to be the easiest part and the second wall was going to be very hard since it was so tall and we had to get it so close to the hole…..We were wrong! That first wall posed a big challenge for everyone but Blake, he rocked it! It only took him 2 shots to place the ball perfectly, it was amazing. On TV that shot didn’t look that hard, but being there it was very difficult we should have played it so different. In that challenge Blair, Elena and myself felt very confident so we were all going to go for the second wall and Brenda and Lori were going to go first, this was probably a mistake. The first wall was so important because everyone was trying to get it up and down fast and that’s harder than being able to have room to fly it. We tried our best and now we know, but I would have loved to take a rip at that wall!
Having not hit a single shot in the morning I really wanted to make up for it the second part of the challenge and I did! Getting 2 points was crucial to keeping us in it, but unfortunately it wasn’t enough. Its hard to come from that far back.
Watching the show I now see how the guys are handling the game. When your there you don’t see what there saying or the reasons why they are doing what they are doing. I find it interesting and now see that it was actually a smart move on their part to send Blair and Lori to the challenge. Lori was playing well and Blair was struggling. It made perfect sense to get a struggling player to bring down a strong one…problem is it didn’t work! hahaha
The ladies played great and I really look forward to seeing if we take advantage of the momentum shift?????
Thanks for watching and look forward to next week!

Girls tie it up!

The second show is done and girls win!!!
Going into the second show we as a team decided that the first challenge of the day is the biggest thing in this season and as you can tell by the results it was! We need to have the advantage of winning the benching challenge and get the advantage! We pretty much played even with the guys in the morning, I won my match vs. Brian and Lori won hers. I’m didn’t play as solid as I would have liked, but I still got the job done and as many people in golf know…it really doesn’t matter how you do it, it matters that its done! It was tough that we had to go to a playoff , but I feel it was the right decision to put Lori in the playoff.
I know Lori and I have had our issues, but Im thrilled she was on my team for this show. She really stepped up in the playoff and beat Andrew with a great birdie, that’s the best way to win…and she also got it done in the benching challenge with Dave. Its a huge momentum boost for the girls getting Brenda back and having a boy on the bench.
We need to keep this momemtum going and keep the girls on the winning side of things….its all about the team win and getting all boys eliminated!
I know that the next show will be crazy…ups and downs and emotions all the way with twists and turns….enjoy the show and talk to you next week.

Exciting premier!
Posted by christina in Latest News on September 29th, 2010
Well the first show is in the books and it was great….except for the girls loss. It came down to 1 second and 1 shot! Golf really is a game of inches. Hate that it came down to that little, but it is also encouraging that we kept things so close and exciting.
It was so weird to watch the whole thing unfold again, it gives you goose bumps just watching. I loved watching the glass break and I couldn’t wait to see my sand save, it was really fantastic shot if I do say so myself. A 40 yard bunker shot it tough. Blake got a bad break with so much spin on his ball we both hit good shots.
It was too bad that A Rod’s ball was chosen because he was playing so well off the bat. It would be interesting to see what would have happened if someone else was chosen. Brenda didn’t play that bad, its just so hard to come back from 1 stroke in 2 holes. However, I know she will be such a motivator for our team on show 2 and will come back firing when she’s off the bench. Love that girl and huge congrats to her….She became Brenda Barb this weekend after marring her prince charming this past weekend!
Well can’t wait to see whats in store for next week so be sure to tune in next TUESDAY @ 9pm/eastern on Golf Channel!!
And thanks for the support!!!!!

As most of you already know by following my scores on the LPGA website last week, I unfortunatly did not get my card.
Nothing went my way except for the second day and when I started well the 3rd day we were cut short due to rain and when I resumed my 3rd and continued to the 4th, after a whole day and half off, I struggled.
I want to thank everyone who supported me through this journey. I also want to apologize to those who I let down by not achieving my goal of the LPGA.
I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I hope 2010 brings great things.

Final Stage…
Posted by christina in Latest News on November 23rd, 2009
It’s just 9 days till the start of the 2010 LPGA Qualifying Final stage tournament and im so excited for the challenge!
It has been almost 7 weeks since the sectional qualifier in Venice and ever since I have been working to ensure im ready. I have played 3 mini-tour events and have been working with my swing coach as much as possible. I am so excited to say that he will be my caddy next week. His experience in many years playing as a professional himself and teaching some of the best players in the country is undoubtedly to my benefit. I cannot explain how much it means and how much it will help to have him there. His personality will make a world of difference keeping me calm and focused!
Again, I want to thank every single person that has helped me through this and previous years. Getting to this point would have never been possible. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I hope to be writing another “I did it” blog come December 8th!!!
Please feel free to follow my results on www.lpga.com starting december 2nd.

I DID IT!!!!

I DID IT!
It took two tries, but their was no way I was going to let it slip away again. I finished T18 in Florida and im going to LPGA FINALS! I’ve played really well this year and have been working extremly hard to get it done and I did it. It feels so good to be able to write this knowing what its taken to get this far and for all who have supported me in every way, I appreciate everyone of you.
I know the journey is far from complete and I will continue to work my butt off to get it done at finals. I have been there before and know what to expect, I know that I can get it done this year. I expect to be a fully exempt LPGA professional in 2010! I will do all I can to prove this a reality.
The last 3 weeks have been mentally and physically draining. It was a roller coaster of emotions, but I now know I can handle anything. I think it was meant to be to miss the top 30 in Palm Springs. I have proven to myself and others that I am good enough to get it done anywhere.
I have 7 weeks before finals in Daytona and I will be working hard on all aspects of my game. My plan is to continue to improve my long game and make my short game even stronger. I will also be working on physical and mental strenght. Thats what it takes! I will also be working to raise the needed funds to be able to do all I can to keep my game in shape, travel and play events between now and December. If anyone reading this blog knows of anyone who would want to sponsor my next 7 week journey to the LPGA please contact me ASAP. It will be a great opportunity to get some recognition in magazines, over the internet, and possibly recieve air time on the Golf Channel come final stage in December.
Thank you again to everyone!!

Lets try again…

Well last week I thought I had it no question! I felt very good, started well and felt positive all week. When I walked off 18 on the last day I thought surely I had made it, no problem…..I was wrong.
After 3 days of a lot of pouting, crying and being extremely mad I figured at least I got another chance this week. My goal is to stay as patient and as positive as I did last week and hope that putts will being to fall.
Thanks to all those who followed and whos hearts broke when I finished 31st!!!! Guess I just needed more practice and to empty the bank account fully before I make final stage.
Wish me luck and I hope to post “I DID IT” next Friday night.
